Friday, April 8th, was a day I was able to go on a hike with the grade seven teachers and students. We took the train from Higashi Kurume to Koma and began our hike at Hiwada Mountain.
Here are a couple of interesting statues by the Koma train station. Having grown up in British Columbia, my first thought was totem pole! :)
We began our nine kilometer hike at the station.

Looks like a city there between the trees! |

There were a few beautiful blossoms along the way. |

That's what we climbed! |

It was a great hike, although I can feel it in some of my muscles today, the day after. It was a great field trip and I am glad that we are looking to developing a program in the Middle school related to exploring this country through different hikes. It is a great way to get out of the classroom to see and experience God's world!
